Farriers and veterinarians in the New England states will come together next week to share their knowledge and hear lectures by Dr. William Moyer at the Myhre Equine Clinic's Farrier-Veterinarian Conference, to be held at Myhre Equine Clinic in Rochester, New Hampshire on October 9-10, 2014. Professor William Moyer of the College of Veterinary Medicine & Biomedical Sciences at Texas A&M University in College Station, Texas makes a trip north to serve as this year's main speaker at the Myhre Equine Clinic Farrier-Veterinarian Conference, now in its 27th year. As always, the conference will mix lectures with cases referred from conference participants. Thursday will be lectures and Friday will be a chance to work on some horses. Don't miss this chance to catch up with Dr. Moyer and re-connect with farriers and veterinarians in New England.

Thursday, October 9 Schedule  (lectures all day)
7:30 AM  Registration and Coffee.
8:00 AM Morning lectures: 1. Equine shoeing and lameness—the past and future.
2. What should we believe, and how do we differentiate between fact and fiction?
3. Clinical examination of the foot: all by Dr. Moyer
 11:30 AM Lunch and updates from sponsors.
12:30 PM  "Myhre Minute": The latest and greatest in diagnostics and treatment: Grant Myhre, DVM, and Steve Kraus, BS, CJF
1:00 PM Chronic laminitis: Dealing with the myriad complications—the horse, the client, the Internet, and others:  Dr. Moyer
2:00 PM Coffee break.
2:30 PM How can farriers and veterinarians deal with foot problems without a definitive diagnosis? Dr. Moyer
3:30 PM Simple, reliable hoof crack repair: Dr. Moyer
4:00 PM Panel discussion.
5:00 PM Q&A with wine, cheese, and Molson Golden beer, a tribute to Bill Rebhun.
6:00 PM Dinner.

Friday, October 10 Schedule (Wet Lab)
8 AM to 5 PM Lameness exams, cases from the field, with Dr. Moyer

Please refer difficult lameness cases for workup on Friday; both farriers and veterinarians are encouraged to participate in case workups and farriery. Clients may receive up to 50% off fees.
